When I graduated from a small massage school in Colorado I never imagined how this line of work would profoundly affect my life. Learning this skill has both fed my need to nurture others and planted more seeds of mindful living into my life. I have always had a fascination with holistic health since childhood and would often spend time meditating with my Mom. My mom has been a massage and acupuncture client for as long as I've lived and she inspired me to pursue this career. I personally have experienced the benefits of massage therapy in recovering from injuries due to martial arts, snowboarding, hiking and car accidents. I believe that my success as an LMP is because of my commitment to informed consent. Alongside performing an assessment I believe it is important to discuss a treatment plan and evaluate client goals openly and honestly. I want my clients to feel like I am a partner in their wellness rather than a dictator and am committed to providing relevant information about the benefits of massage therapy. I have also witnessed and personally experienced the benefits of other forms of bodywork such as chiropractic and acupuncture and have seen rapid results when working in tandem with another practitioner. Whatever walk of life my client comes from, I am always able to customize their visit to meet or exceed their needs. My modalities also include cupping massage (certified in 2009) which has been an amazing addition to my practice, if you are unfamiliar with this modality I wrote an article on it in 2010 here: http://www.dreamclinic.com/cupping_therapy
