Having been a professional classical ballet dancer faced with injuries and physical limitations, I was drawn to non-invasive methods such as massage and yoga for healing. Bodywork appealed to me and became a natural career progression as I now have opportunity to give back in an area I am both familiar and passionate about.
During a massage session, I aim to stimulate a relaxation response within the first 1/4 hr.; depending on assessment, I use techniques to achieve most important goal, be it simple relaxation, relief for an acute or chronic condition, or bringing sensory awareness to weak muscles. Often it is a combination of all three. Pin- and -stretch techniques for stubborn areas are mainstay of a session and I suggest stretches and self-maintenance tools for in between massages so clients receive valuable tools to maximize health goals outside of session(s).
