The past decade of practicing Massage Therapy, has taught me many, many things. One being that doing something that you love, as a career, is sadly underrated and highly unusual for many folks. Another, that communication is the most fundamental tool in aiding others on their journey to relieve aches and pains. People and their injuries are unique, and each lifestyle demands attention to detail. I don't believe for great health, there is one 'cure all' method, but an overlapping balance of modalities and resources that suit you, the individual. I will strive to educate you about the effects of the life choices you make, and give you tips on how to maintain function and comfort in your body. The objective and clinical assessment that I provide is meant to compassionately support you as you transition from injury to wellness, as well as allow you the space to relax and maintain wellness after a typical day of "what have you". I am very capable of using deep pressure in my work, but encourage clients to work with their breath and at a level they feel is "helpful" or "productive". When you can't breathe because you are straining silently to resist strong pressure, you are not relaxing and thus not really "receiving" the work, but enduring. The body knows it's own limitations, even when the mind overlooks them. That goes for patient and practitioner alike. Massage Therapy is a wonderful way to connect the body and mind, and while injuries present the obstacle of inevitable pain and it does not have to be excruciating to be effective.
