Massage Therapy is an incredible way to connect with humanity through the basic sense of touch, which is sorely lacking and even discouraged in our society. Massage helps bring a person back home- back to the ground living inside their skin. We as a culture value time-is-money, requiring us to have accomplishments under our belts and constant new production. This creates a very busy lifestyle with little room to answer to the parasympathetic part of our nervous system - to pause, reflect, and repose - which is essential for our vitality and to reset our survival instinct. I believe that touch, administered properly with the reassurance of safety, gives a person the ability to not just live well, but thrive. To be able to provide people with more tools to survive this world, through the liberation of joints and muscles, topped with a feeling that all is somehow going to be okay, gives me a sense of strength, pride and liberation within myself.
I have been practicing massage professionally for 18 years, having graduated from East-West College in 1993. However, I have massaged people even before that, just as a natural instinct. I practice in Swedish and Deep Tissue Massage with an intuitive flair; my hands tell me where to go on each individual.
