Welcome to my webpage! My name is Veronica Cartwright and as a health care provider, I feel it's important for you to understand what motivates me to do massage.

Like most people, for several years I worked a stressful-barely above the minimum wage job that I took some pride in doing but that I was not very happy with. One day I woke up and promised myself a better quality of life and I did the only sensible thing I could think of. I scraped to find a way to go to school to learn massage and healing body work and since then, I have yet to look back!

I consider massage to be the most compassionate act in the world and work that is rewarding and always worth doing. As someone who suffers from a severe anxiety-panic disorder and depression first hand I can't stress enough that our fast-paced lives are in desperate need of balance. Today getting a massage is no longer a luxury but rather an intelligent decision to learn how to become more attentive to your body and to put your mind at ease. In the three and a half years of experience I have in massage currently, I've found that healing through touch is incredibly faster and more profound than any medicine on the market.

I feel as though I was destined to become a massage therapist. I had this desire to go to bed each night knowing that I have made the world a better place (so ok, massage may not be world peace but it does help people nonetheless). I get to see people at their best and at their worst and then I get to become a part of something so much bigger than myself. I get to witness people soar after experiencing touch and I can assure you, it's truly nothing short of amazing.

Who am I? I am someone who enjoys helping people of all ages and backgrounds to break free from the stress, physical and emotional pain that holds them back in their lives. I am a nurturing practitioner who is looking to change the course of the massage therapy profession as we know it. I don't want to "fix" anyone. I would rather render therapeutic massage and search for the root of their symptom, and attempt to help the body to release all the negative energy its holding inside so that it can make itself well again. I like to show people that pain is really just the path to good health. Through pain and stress, we can find freedom amidst even the most difficult of conditions.

Working closely with my clients I am able to provide them services that enhance the quality of their lives and it is my pleasure to provide genuine hospitality to them. I only charge people for my time as it's time away from family but my caring for people is and always will be free. The goal that I always aim for when working with a client is to make them feel completely cared for throughout the full experience. I will always lend a listening ear while providing my services.

There is nothing I love more about my job than providing a compassionate and relaxing atmosphere for others to come to because it's important to offer the public a safe and peaceful space where they can get away from the many stressors of the world while also providing them with a human being that they can connect to in a safe and healthy way who will act as a calming presence within that space. Every moment I have massaging is an adventure and I cherish every moment of the Journey!

Professional History

I began my career at Executive Massage which is a chair massage business dedicated to stroke prevention located inside of the Tacoma Mall, where I gained so much knowledge to add to what was taught to me in massage school and I had quickly developed a loyal clientele base there. It was there that I learned that people will forget things about you but the one thing they will never forget how you made them feel. It was unfortunate this business had went through a bit of a financial crisis shortly after I was hired and employees had to be let go with me being the first to leave as I was the last practitioner hired and that wasn't easy for me but Just like I told my clients there 'Tough times don't last but tough people do' and that has proven true. As of now, I have been a massage therapist employed at Massage Time Spa in Puyallup for nearly the past two years and I love it!! Those that have received a massage from me would tell you that for a young woman I can surprise you as my professional background consists mainly of intense deep tissue treatment massage with quite a bit of unique sports stretching and Thai techniques but I also have this nice fusion of Swedish relaxation technique mixed in with treatment work to create the ultimate massage for my clients. I am still versatile however so I can adapt easily to fit the needs of the client. To me massage is an art so I tend to get creative with the techniques I use in my sessions and really have fun with it. Even with my own health struggles you will find that I maintain a calm demeanor in the treatment room as I want to make every client that comes my way to feel comfortable and as though they are my most important client. I am delighted whenever I hear that I've helped someone in even the tiniest of ways but I also take any constructive criticism they may have to learn and improve. I'm the proud wife of an airman and I love meeting veterans and their families and working with them on reducing their often very high stress levels.

Education History

Graduate of Clover Park Technical College, class of 2012.

Though i have not yet taken any modality based continuing education courses for massage, I am interested in and will eventually take courses in warm bamboo massage, watsu, bowenwork, chakra balancing with crystal healing, reiki, cupping, Thai yoga massage and a fairly new innovative modality emerging called 'Acrosage' which combines massage with yoga, meditation and acrobatics. Energy work is something that really interests me so I'm hoping someday to be able to fully learn and incorporate some aspects of energy work into my massage sessions as well. While I love the spa atmosphere, In the future I see my focus to be in end of life care as a massage therapist through hospice helping people to really live before they pass on. In my spare time I enjoy coloring in coloring books, bowling, going on walks through my neighborhood, cooking for my loving husband, visiting spas to get some pampering for myself, traveling, playing board games, watching movies, making jewelry and I often open my third eye to meditate on the mysteries of the universe...Om! Please contact me to ask any questions. You may contact me directly through my personal email or mobile phone number located at the bottom of the webpage on the left side. Have you received a massage from me? Want to share what your experience was like with others? Leave any comments you wish to below. I appreciate your feedback as it helps me continue to grow as a practitioner. Thank you for your business friend ! :) Sending positive vibes your way, Veronica
